New Year’s Resolutions for Pet Owners

January 1, 2018
Happy New Year! Are you setting resolutions for 2018? If so, why not include your pet in your list of goals? Read on as a Plano, TX vet lists some great resolutions for pet owners.

Make Time To Play

This is a great goal for both pets and people! Playing keeps our animal companions active and entertained, and can really help curb many undesirable behaviors. It’s also a great way for you to bond with your furry friend! Spend a few minutes a day playing with your pet.

Provide Great Food

Choosing the right type of food for your furry pal can be tricky. Many pet food manufacturers use flashy marketing techniques to make their particular brand stand out. Get into the habit of reading labels, and look for products that list meat, fish, or poultry as the first and most numerous ingredients. Avoid brands that contain a lot of fillers, such as wheat and corn, or long lists of ingredients you can’t pronounce.

Get Good Pictures

Our animal companions can definitely take some adorable pictures! Remember to get some great photos of your four-legged friend this year. (Tips: schedule your photo sessions for dawn or dusk, when the light is best. You may also want to try a pet-camera app.)

Keep Up With Veterinary Care

We know, most of our patients would rather take a nap than visit us. We don’t take this personally! No matter what your furry buddy’s opinion of veterinary appointments are, he or she will look and feel much better with proper care. Ask your vet to recommend an appointment schedule.

Pamper Your Pet

Our animal companions don’t ask much of us, aside from food, shelter, and ear scritches. However, our four-legged friends really thrive when they feel safe, loved, and a bit spoiled. Get Fluffy some new pet furniture, or build a doghouse for Fido. New toys, treats, and beds will also keep your beloved pet comfortable and happy.

Spend Quality Time

Your faithful pet will be right by your side in 2018, offering cuddles, kisses, and unconditional love and loyalty. You’re the center of your four-legged pal’s universe. Spend some time with your animal companion every day. This will be great for both of you! Please contact us, your Plano, TX pet clinic, anytime. We look forward to providing you with excellent care in 2018 and beyond!
