Great Ways to Pamper Your Pet for National Pet Week

June 1, 2016
Did you know that National Pet Appreciation Week starts June 5th? We think our animal companions should be celebrated every week! That said, this is a great time to pamper your furry friend a bit. Read on as a Frisco, TX veterinarian offers some tips on making this week extra special for your beloved pet.

Treats

Our furry friends love treats! Go ahead and pamper Fido by giving him a nice piece of plain, cooked meat, or some yummy doggy snacks. Fluffy can enjoy cooked, boneless chicken, or a can of tuna or salmon. Just be careful not to overindulge your furball. Ask your vet for nutritional recommendations.

Cuddles

Fluffy and Fido can both make wonderful cuddle buddies. Spend some quality time with your four-legged BFF. Let your kitty sleep on your lap as you’re watching a movie, or offer your pup extra belly rubs and ear scritches.

Playtime

Did you know that playing with your pet regularly is one of the best things you can do for your furry pal? Indulge Fido in a fun game of fetch, or control a toy for Fluffy to pounce on and chase after.

Photos

Carve out time for a photo session. There’s no such thing as too many pet pictures!

Presents

Is your pet’s bed looking worn? Does Fluffy need a new scratching post or tower? Why not get your furry pal some new things? You can also look online for some great DIY ideas for pet furniture.

Toys

Stop at the pet store and pick up some new playthings for Fido and Fluffy. If you’re trying to save money, you can go the DIY route and make some cute pet toys. Cut a tee shirt into strips and braid the pieces into a rope toy for your pooch, or make Fluffy a cute toy mouse out of a baby sock and some catnip.

Veterinary Care

Does your furball need a microchip or spay/neuter surgery? Is your animal companion due for an exam or vaccines? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, let this be a reminder to set an appointment. Proper veterinary care is very important to your pet’s health and well-being! Please contact us, your Frisco, TX animal clinic, for all your pet’s veterinary care needs. We are here to provide your furry friend with excellent care!
