Fluffy’s New Year’s Resolutions

January 1, 2017
Happy New Year! As we take down our old calendars and put up new ones, many people are reflecting on their personal goals, and making resolutions for the coming year. If cats could set goals for themselves, what do you think would be on Fluffy’s list of resolutions? A Plano, TX vet offers some suggestions below.

Get Plenty of Rest

Your drowsy furball takes her beauty rest very seriously. As far as Fluffy is concerned, making sure she gets all her naps in is of the utmost importance! Help your cat achieve this goal by offering her lots of comfy beds.

Eat Well

Kitties have a reputation for being a bit fussy. If your cat doesn’t like what you offered her, she may very well meow to demand something else. Help Fluffy make this goal by offering her good, high-quality food. Proper nutrition is very important!

Soak Up The Sun

Have you ever found your furball sprawled out in a sunbeam, looking completely content? Kitties love sunshine! While we’re pretty sure that cats don’t actually run on solar power, their love of sunbathing can be a great reminder for us to spend time outdoors, especially on beautiful days. Make Fluffy a comfy window seat, where she can snooze in the sun.

Get Some Exercise

When your kitty is actually awake, she may feel a bit playful. Fluffy may enjoy batting at her favorite catnip mouse, or she may prefer smacking a crumpled-up piece of paper around. Offer your frisky pet lots of toys to push under the couch.

Speak My Mind

Kitties may be small, but they have big personalities. Fluffy isn’t shy about expressing her opinions on being moved mid-nap, or telling you when she wants her dinner. Some cats even seem to enjoy ‘arguing’ with their owners!

Show My Love

Cats can be very affectionate little furballs. When Fluffy is feeling cuddly, she may beg for attention, or hop into your lap for some snuggle time. She could also show her adoration in some rather unusual ways, such as flopping over for a belly rub, nipping you gently, rubbing against your legs, or even blinking at you. These adorable signs of kitty love are bound to keep you smiling in 2017! Please contact us, your Plano, TX pet hospital, for all your cat’s veterinary care needs in 2017 and beyond. We’re here to help!
