Fluffy’s Thanksgiving Agenda

November 15, 2020
Turkey Day is coming up quick! Many people are already making plans for the autumn holiday. As it turns out, our feline pals also have a few holiday traditions. Here, a Frisco, TX veterinarian lists some things your kitty has on her agenda for the autumn holiday.

Breakfast

Technically, this probably should be breakfasts, as Fluffy usually has more than one. Kitties often eat a few times in the morning. Your furball needs to ensure that she is all fueled up for a full day of napping!

Supervise The Cooking

Fluffy often keeps a watchful eye on her humans as they are going about their days. Your furry friend will supervise you carefully as you cook, clean, and make other preparations.

Fur The Furniture

Kitties have very pretty coats, and they generously try to share them with their humans. Fluffy will take time out of her busy napping schedule to make sure that she’s distributed the proper amount of pet hair on your clothes and furniture.

Nap

Looking cute is hard work! Fluffy will curl up in a comfy spot to recharge her catteries. If you put your guests’ coats in a spare bedroom, she’ll probably assume that you put them there just for her, and sprawl out there. (You might want to keep that door shut.)

Steal Seats

Our feline buddies are very opportunistic, especially when it comes to warm napping spots. There’s a pretty good chance that, at some point, somebody will get up for something. Your furball will immediately hop into the vacated seat, and will likely look quite pleased with herself for that score.

Find Guests With Allergies

Fluffy can be quite mysterious, and she certainly lives by her own laws. If any of your guests are allergic to cats, your furry buddy will probably make a beeline for them. (This is apparently covered in Fluffy’s kitty rulebook.)

Dinner!

Your furball won’t want to miss the main event! Make a plate for Fluffy. Cats can enjoy some of that delicious turkey, as long as you remove the skin, bones, and fat. Canned tuna is also fine. Just don’t give your kitty anything that isn’t safe for her, such as garlic, onions, scallions, or chives; chocolate; alcohol; or raw meat, dough, or yeast. Ask your vet for more information.  Happy Thanksgiving! Please contact us, your Frisco, TX pet clinic, anytime. We’re here to help!
